Parângu Mare is a mountain in the Parâng Mountains (Romania). Its summit stands 2,519 m above sea level. Its prominence — how far it rises above the highest saddle linking it to a taller summit — is 2,103 m, and the nearest higher ground is 84 km away.

From the lowest point within 5 km (1,043 m), it rises 1,476 m. The steepest side is the south-east face: 25° on average over the first kilometre. In places the ground near the top reaches 49° — terrain for climbers, not walkers.

The nearest town is Petrila, 16 km away at 676 m: 1,843 m below the summit.
