Mountain at the southeastern part of Thessaly in central Greece

Pelion is a mountain in Greece. Its summit stands 1,543 m above sea level. Its prominence — how far it rises above the highest saddle linking it to a taller summit — is 1,473 m.

From the lowest point within 5 km (334 m), it rises 1,209 m. The steepest side is the south-west face: 12° on average over the first kilometre.

The nearest town is Zagorá, 5 km away at 487 m: 1,056 m below the summit.
